Executive recruiters work as an extension
of companies, and are paid by the company to search out, identify
and attract the best possible candidates for an open position
that the company may have. They are not "placement services"
(although such firms exist), helping unhappy or unemployed
candidates to find jobs.
For that reason, while an executive recruiter
can be an excellent source
of help and advice in strategizing a job hunt, refining a
resume and just keeping your head on straight, these "services"
are extended as a courtesy. So be sure to be courteous in
return of the time that you ask the recruiter to spend with
you on these areas.
